Harmonic Suppression and Torque Ripple Reduction of a High-Speed Permanent Magnet Spindle Motor

In this paper, the method of harmonic suppression and torque ripple reduction is studied for structure characteristics design requirements a high-speed permanent magnet spindle motor. According to magnetic circuit analysis calculation theory synchronous motor (PMSM), reluctance slots are arranged at two ends rotor yoke change external field distribution in order optimize air gap density waveform. To obtain flux waveforms that close sinusoidal not destroy under pre-pressure, several with different widths depths used achieve distribution. Based on selection pole-slot proportion, skewed-slot decrease end effect, effects electromotive force (EMF) discussed. It concluded additional loss can be reduced through reasonable design.
